The new early intervention pediatric room will become operative, at “Filippo Del Ponte” hospital in Varese<\/st1:city><\/st1:place>, next 1st December.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

It is new, because the existing service is considerably improved, both from the structural point of view and the organization of assistance, including the employment of new nurses who exclusively dedicate their work to the early pediatric intervention.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The works of renovation increased the available area, allowing the construction of a hot room that will facilitate the children arrival at the hospital, of a new space of acceptance and of an area equipped with 3 beds for the children who need a period of observation. This small recovery area will be specifically used for children not with serious diseases that are better to keep under control waiting for the improvement of their clinical conditions. For example, is the case of the children suffering from a weak or moderate asthma attack, fever or gastroenteritis with vomit and who present a moderate dehydration.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Many of these patients are now admit to hospital at the fourth floor in the pediatric ward, and they occupy beds that, starting from 1st<\/sup> December , will be available for more serious cases, increasing  the ward’s accommodation capacity and avoiding transfers to other hospitals.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

As the children arrive to the new early intervention room, they will also be immediately received by a professional nurse, who works in the acceptance area. It is only the beginning of what will become , with the end of works expected in the second lot of the new maternal and child health unit, a real triage, in view of that has already started a full program of staff training.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The new service was equipped with a system of video surveillance that  allows the complete supervision both of the area of entrance, the exam rooms and of the adjacent recovery areas.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to this, after 8 p.m only one entrance is operative in the hospital, in order to maximize the access control.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Furthermore the entire structure shows a pictorial, colored and calming decoration, realized in the field of project, L’Arte che cura (Art heals) of Brera<\/st1:placetype> Academy<\/st1:placetype><\/st1:placetype> in collaboration with the foundation Il Ponte del Sorriso. Always regarding the reception, there is also an automatic entry door at the early intervention room, in order to help mums who arrive with prams.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The launch of the new early pediatric  intervention room will immediately have its beneficial effects;<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The start up will be in autumn, a period of the year, in which, the access to the service tend to rise due to the spread of respiratory diseases, until double than the average of the other periods, with <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

peaks of 60 children a day, at the same time of influence’s peaks periods.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
