Swimsuits for the Copenhagen summit

Two days before the start of work in Copenhagen, the initiatives by Legambiente Varese to inform the public about climate changes are continuing. After the invasion of Piazza Montegrappa by penguins, yesterday, environmentalists moved to Mantegazza Park in Masnago.

Five fearless volunteers in summer and beachwear, some in T-shirts and shorts, some in swimsuits and pareus, braved the inclement weather of Day of the Immaculate Conception, to be photographed under the yellow banner “Sem dreè a speciaà ul natal dul 2020” (We are waiting for Christmas 2020), emphasising the need for immediate intervention to tackle the rise in temperature. 

“On such important days,” said Dino De Simone, the president of Legambiente Varese, “we want to give some little signals, also from our small province of Varese. We don’t think we are outsiders to what it is happening in Copenhagen, and neither do we think we are outsiders to what is happening to our planet. We too can contribute to the creation of a low-carbon emission society.”
