Quake, heretics!Murray Abraham is attending the BAFF

In the last few years Abraham participated in three films directed by Renzo Martinelli: “The stone merchant”, about the terrorism of Islamic origins, “Carnera: The walking Mountain”, dedicated to the “good-hearted giant” of Sequals, and the last “Barbarossa”.

 

Murray Abraham, the habitual frequenter of theatre stages, is famous to the mainstream audience for these extraordinary roles, but during his career he has met important directors and he has acted in films of different genres. After short apparitions in “Serpico” by Sidney Lumet, in “The Sunshine Boys” by Herbert Ross and “All the President’s Men” by Alan J. Pakula, here he was cruel drug pusher in “Scarface” by Brian De Palma (who called on him again for “The Bonfire of the Vanities”), but also in lighter roles as in “Mighty Aphrodite” by Woody Allen. “Launched” in the space by Guillermo del Toro (Mimic), Abraham came to the science fiction with “Star Trek – Insurrection” and successively he was chosen by Gus Van Sant for “Finding Forreste”.

 

The actor joins the list of Oscarwinners and international guests, who have attended the BAFF in the last editions: Michelangelo Antonioni, Francis Ford Coppola, Vittorio Storaro, Faye Dunaway, Carlo Rambaldi, Peter Fonda, Osvaldo Desideri, Ursula Andress and many others.
