Mexpo returns for the MalpensaFiere weekend
Another weekend with attractions and events to liven up the halls in Via XI Settembre: last Saturday and Sunday, 25,000 came through the gates. The admission was free.
After the success of the first weekend of Mexpo, the trade fair dedicated to the family, the second weekend is about to start. Last weekend, with the 1 May holiday, Mexpo had more than 25,000 visitors, demonstrating that the exhibition centre is able to cope extremely well. MalpensaFiere became a genuine recreation space, where adults and children could spend quiet, entertaining moments. And there are many side events that will liven up the second weekend.
On Saturday, 8 May, at 3.30 pm, Mexpo will be the venue of a world record attempt at bowls, and a flight event, in the presence of some of the gold medal champions in the 2010 World Games.
On Sunday, 9 May, at 3.30 pm, the Fondazione D’Amico, which carries out research on kidney diseases, is organising the “Health Course”, an interesting round-table conference, consisting of a number of discussions throughout the afternoon, coordinated by the experts, on a variety of themes, from caring for the body, to physical wellbeing. The objective of it all is to inform the public about the fundamental role of nutrition and lifestyle in preventing and treating kidney diseases and the diseases most commonly associated with them. And to end on a high note, a great show-contest organised in memory of the “King of Pop”, the “Michael Jackson Italian Tribute”, an important tribute to the music and dancing of the internationally renowned artist. Those present will be able to perform in dancing and singing contests to win trophies and awards given by a jury of professionals and experts in the field.
The events planned for the second weekend in Mexpo, are part of the philosophy behind the organisation of the trade fair itself, which, this year, opens two new dedicated areas up to the public: “Mexpo Home”, with many furnishing ideas, including a large space for garden and outdoor furniture, and “Mexpo Children”, which, during the first weekend, already saw more than 1300 children enthusiastically taking part in recreational and educational activities, with a team of expert entertainment organisers. In addition to these two new spaces in the 2010 fair, the popular exhibition dedicated to the whole family is returning: “Mexpo Sport and Free Time”, which is hosting the new discipline “Giocaduathlon”, a mixed course of cycling and running, set up in the external area of MalpensaFiere. Children aged 8 – 13 will be able to take part in the contest.
