The city is getting ready for the G6 summit
Only a few days are missing to the beginning of the important international summit and the technicians are preparing the meeting rooms. Everyone’s busy cleaning, the city park is being tidied up and the 007 ( the G6 rep) are in town.
The countdown to the Interior Ministers G6 summit has begun. It will develop new strategies to contrast the Mafia and terrorism, paying particular attention to the seizure of criminal assets. The first delegations are already in town and they’ve already visited Palazzo Estense and the Questura (the police) for the ceremony directives carried out by the security officials.
There’s already a first secret, that is… the gala dinner menu which will be held Saturday night in the Ville Ponti. The staff of the great chef Gualtiero Marchesi has kept it top secret and they won’t reveal anything until the evening of the event. It has been confirmed by the staff itself who have gathered to prepare everything beforehand in these hours at the “Marchesino” of Milan where they are developing the latest strategies. Gualtiero Marchesi could bet on its classic dishes presented in a recent exhibition in Milan, such as the rice with golden leaves and the open ravioli, but there are no confirmation so far.
The city is undergoing a great metamorphosis too: there are works in progress in the city gardens, new flowers are being planted and the lawn is being trimmed. Some technicians are installing a tensile structure which will be used by the catering service for the Saturday morning brunch. A highly qualified cleaning company is sifting the municipal offices as well as the Mayor’s one which will be the Minister Roberto Maroni’s office for the event. Everything has been cleaned thoroughly and will be checked inch by inch by the security officials.
The crew of interpreters has arrived at the Salone Estense, while the municipal offices in Via Sacco which can’t remain open on Friday are starting to move.
A new kit, renamed iVarese, designed to be used on the new Apple product, iPad, was presented today at the IAT. It will be given as a gift to the Interior Ministers (six of them from Europe, as well as the Interior Minister and the Minister of Justice from the U.S.) during the G6 on 28th and 29th of May. The software was conceived and designed by the Concreo srl and developed by the Finsa Consulting srl, especially for the Varese City Hall. It gives all the information needed on Varese in just one click, or better still in one "touch".
