Flavio Caroli, the new administrator of the Maga

The management of the Maga Art Gallery in Gallarate has changed hands. The new administrator is the art historian and university professor Flavio Caroli, who is going to lead the Zanella Foundation, which runs the art museum in Via De Magri. The Mayor Edoardo Guenzani, the town councillor for culture, Sebastian Nicosia, and the director of the museum Emma Zanella, will be welcoming Caroli on Tuesday, at 6 pm (at the Maga Gallery, of course), when the general public will also be able to attend. Caroli is replacing Angelo Crespi, who resigned as the administrator because of new professional commitments.
Flavio Caroli is a professor in the History of Modern Art at the Polytechnic of Milan, but he also teaches at other Italian universities. And in the 1990s and the first years of the 21st century, he was the science manager for exhibitions at Milan’s Palazzo Reale. As a historian of modern and contemporary art, he has studied, in particular, the introspective line of western art, and he is the author of numerous essays and two novels. He has an important résumé, although he is possibly best known to the general public as a guest and contributor to Che Tempo Che Fa, the TV show on Rai Due hosted by Fabio Fazio. Thus, the rumours of a “face known” to the general public have been confirmed.
