MV Agusta, orders up by 12%
The motorcycle company has announced a doubling of the orders for 2012, a sign that the quality of a product that carries the Made in Italy label can beat the serious economic crisis.
The period of economic crisis has affected all manufacturing sectors, and even the engineering companies that produce motorcycles have been badly hit. However, although there is a crisis in the whole sector, there is one company that ended 2011 with a 12% improvement, and, in the first months of 2012, orders have doubled on those of the previous year. That company is MV Agusta.
The success is due primarily to the new, medium power, 3-cylinder models, the F3 675 and BRUTALE 675, and to the continuous increase in the maxi power BRUTALE family.
“Every F3 is made up of about 1200 parts, each of which is individually checked before, during and after assembly, to guarantee their initial conformity, precision of assembly and effectiveness,” the company explained. “The engine has three in-line cylinders, 675 cc, and has an exclusive solution for the counter-rotating shaft, which neutralises the forces of inertia in the drive, which increases handling in the bends. At the end of assembly, each engine undergoes the most complete check, on the test bench: it is started up, brought to running temperature, and checked that it conforms to the power and torque specifications, and that it has a uniform output for thirty minutes. Only after this test can it go on for assembly onto the frame, to be attached to the lattice of tubes completed with light, aluminium alloy plates.”
