Brugnoli: “An even match between two important candidates”

Giovanni Brugnoli, the chairperson of the Union of Industrialists of Varese Province, comments on the election of Giorgio Squinzi, the owner of the company Mapei, to the position of national Chairperson of the Confederation of Italian Industry, Confindustria. We remind him that the vote by the committee of Industrialists was evenly balanced between the two candidates. Squinzi won with 93 votes, against Alberto Bombassei, the owner of the company Brembo, who got 82.

His appointment as the leader of our Association for the next four years is the confirmation of how much the organisation can rely on important entrepreneurs of the quality of Squinzi and Bombassei. The narrow victory is the demonstration that both candidates have what it takes to pick up the baton of the important and valuable work that Emma Marcegaglia has been able to achieve during these hard times.
