Formigoni’s election campaign has already begun

The Lombardy Governor said on Twitter, “If Tabacci stands for the Left, as appears to be the case, it’s over!” There then followed an exchange with Luca Sofri.

It was a few minutes before midnight when Roberto Formigoni stopped beating about the bush, and revealed the possible future of Lombardy.

Once again, Twitter was the chosen means. From his account on the social network, the Governor delivered a blow, implying that he intended to hold an election. “If Tabacci stands for the Left, as appears to be the case, it’s over!”

There then followed any exchange with Luca Sofri. The editor of the online newspaper Il Post replied, “What if Civati stands?”

Formigoni: “Ditto.”

Sofri: “Hearing this from a man that told everyone that he’d be in office until 2015, this is a reassuring prediction. Goodnight, sleep well.”

Formigoni: “I’d be more careful, if I were you. You’ve already made plenty of mistakes. Watch out!”

Sofri: “As you’re giving me advice, I’ll repeat mine: sleep well. It’s been a very bad day.”

At this point, the editor changed topic, and started his night-time thoughts about Google.

But the Governor was not going to stay quiet after this criticism, and sent off a number of tweets.

He began criticizing Giulio Cavalli. “Am I mistaken, or did you swap parties after being elected? Where do your loyalties lie?” And Emanuele Fiano immediately afterwards. “You’ve been ignorant and rude! Apologize to Rota.”

It really has been a bad day, one that never seems to end. And tomorrow, maybe, we will find out what happens to the council of Lombardy.
