“We beg you, release Rolando”

No news on the fate of Rolando Del Torchio the man from Angera kidnapped a few days ago in the Philippines: a silence that leaves the local community in anguish over the fate of the well-known fifty-six year old.

Next Wednesday, 14th October, there will be a prayer at 20:45 in the church of the Santuario della Madonna della Riva.

 

A time of intercession and supplication for the former missionary priest who had chosen the country of the Far East to rebuild his life: he opened a restaurant in Dipolog City, in the south of the country.

Del Torchio, a life with great attention to others, he left the church in 1996 and he chose the Philippines, where he arrived eight years ago with the PIME, the Pontifical Institute for Foreign Missions and settled down.

The cold shower hit the community of Angera – where Del Torchio has relatives – less than a week ago when a commando kidnapped him to get away by sea.
