Pedemontana is in chaos: “Don’t send the documents via postal service”
Hundreds of users will have to deliver by hand the documents concerning Conto Targa, i.e. a service which allows its subscribers to benefit from a 50% discount on the fares of the Pedemontana during the months of December 2015 and January 2016, to the said motorway, which, in the meantime, has dispatched e-mails to dozens of users.
It was referred to as “the motorway of the future”, although the life of those who are involved with the Pedemontana is becoming more complicated day after day. And even those who had hoped to overcome the infernal circle of the activation of the Conto Targa service now have to deal with bureaucracy again.
“We would like to inform you that the delivery time of the related documents has expired,” is what can be read on the e-mails that are being sent to a lot of users, even those who have regularly forwarded the whole parcel required. The company, however, instead of apologising for having lost piles of documents, show great magnanimity and says it is willing to wait for the latecomers until 30 December.
New prints, new registered mail. Perhaps. The advice given is “to avoid sending everything via postal service, as, due to possible delivery delays, the required documentation could be dispatched beyond the said time limit”, notwithstanding the postal mark nor the acknowledgement of receipt. The advice is accompanied with a threat: “the missing delivery of the indicated documents will prevent the activation of the Conto Targa service, and consequently it is going to start the processes to recover the payments”. In other words, the forms of the toll with the related fines will be sent to the users’ houses.
How long is going to be the queue of people that will have to go to the Punto Verde (the assistance point of the Pedemontana) in Mozzate during the Christmas period?
They will be at least 92. The Pedemontana has already some issues with the postal service, and with the e-mail service it is not doing better: the e-mails that were delivered to a group of users shows a long list of addresses; 92, as the number of the people who wrote to it.
This is a paradoxical situation which is also the mirror of a system that continues to reveal its flaws and critical points.
If on one hand the Swiss drivers are unable to sign up to the service, on the other there is an infinite amount of problems also for the occasional transits. Meanwhile, the traffic on the old roads has returned to the levels that preceded the opening of the road.
