Two girls from Saronno in the sitcom Telekomandi

Filming for the sitcom “Telekomandi”, which has taken over the streets of Saronno and Uboldo, north of Milan, for almost a month, is continuing. There are two newcomers in the cast, 24-year-old Elena Merelli, from Cogliate, and 17-year-old Gloria Borsellino, from Saronno. The twenty episodes of the sitcom, which will be broadcast on a Sky channel, is about a group of young women sitting on a sofa, with the remote control in their hands, exchanging, gags and jokes, that, at times, verge on the surreal, with each other.

Luciano Silighini Garagnani, who is also from Saronno, is the producer and director of this series which “pays tribute to the jokes of Italian comedians, Ale and Franz and Luciana Littizzetto, but also to the great Woody Allen.”

Silighini personally chose the two new actresses. “Elena and Gloria will be the two beautiful neighbours who visit the four main characters, Trisha Bettazzi, Martina Cremaschi, Miriam Barbiere and Ilaria Comiotto, and take part in their adventures.”

Elena Merelli lives in Cogliate and is a student at the Catholic University; this is her first experience in front of the television cameras. Similarly, for the very young Gloria Borsellino, who attends a high school that specialises in the sciences, in Saronno, this is the first experience on television, that marks the start of the careers of both girls, who do not intend to interrupt their studies, but who are obviously dreaming of the big screen.
