Arcisate-Stabio, “Tax relief for those who have had to put up with the inconvenience”

Mayor Cavallin, has announced that there will be tax relief for the people and commercial, industrial and manufacturing businesses situated along the rail link in Induno Olona.

Disbelief and indignation. This was the reaction of the administration of Induno Olona when they heard the latest developments in the unfortunate affair of the Arcisate-Stabio rail link, namely, the decision by RFI to rescind the contract with the contracting firm.

“This is an unexpected decision,” the Mayor of Induno Olona, Marco Cavallin, wrote in a press release which he issued after today’s council meeting, “taken without any consultation with local businesses, which, as we all know, have been overwhelmed by the construction site, and who deserve more respect and consideration.”

After an informal council meeting, called immediately after he had heard the news of the breakup between the two sides, Mayor Cavallin decided and announced to the council (who gathered this afternoon, Saturday 29 November) that in 2015, the Induno administration is going to introduce tax relief for the people and commercial, industrial and manufacturing businesses situated along the stretch of railway in Induno, to demonstrate his closeness and solidarity with the people, who have tolerated the inconvenience caused by this endless construction work, with great patience.

“The measure will not concern the administrators of the council who reside in the area of construction site,” the press release explained, “and the methods and extent of this relief will be assessed in detail in the next few weeks and announced to the people concerned.

“The Mayor is also staying in contact with the mayors of the other councils affected, who will soon jointly carry out significant initiatives in reaction to a situation that unfortunately can no longer be considered worthy of a civilised country.”
